Bashir Bazanye, also known as Double S (Super Star) was born in Uganda and grew up in Tottenham, North London. When Double S first saw his older brother, Biskit and his school friends spittin for the first time, he was inspired. Double S, one of the biggest names of the new wave, began taking music seriously in his early teens. He rapidly became famous within his area through performing at various youth clubs. Double was mainly known for the bar “Try come against Double S, you’ll get spray, Jaw will get sent west like Kanye”. Super Star soon had North London going crazy and began recording at major grime record label, Alwayz Recording. At the age of 14, he got noticed by performers which allowed him to perform with the likes of Kano and Lethal B.
When he was 16, Double S completed his first mixtape, ‘Money’s the Motive’ which sold over 3000 units from stores such as HMV, UK Recordshop and play.com. After recording his first music video ‘From Day’ the hype grew even bigger and everyone wanted to hear more from Double.
Along with Vertex, Double S started Marvell and was literally a Marvell Boy ‘From Day’. “Stay relevant, stay hot and make great music” – Double S. Double S intents to make Marvell Music a brand and record label.
